FAQ - How does Curbstone handle encryption key management?

Curbstone Card uses an advanced, and simplified, concept of encryption key management: REMOVE the human element. Human beings should not be burdened with the responsibility to securely retain keys, or portions of keys.

Therefore, Curbstone Card encryption keys are kept secret from all the humans involved in the implementation and operation of the software. Upon installation, a unique, random, STRONG, key is generated and stored securely. That key will be used until you periodicalloy execute the Curbstone command to generate a new key.  A new key will be generated secretly, and the entire database decrypted, then re-encrypted, insuring that the process completes.

Eliminate key management procedures, time, and documentation.  Guarantee the most cryptic key possible is used, and unknown to everyone.  Use Curbstone Card.
