Small Retailer Security Survey Results

Thanks to Retailer Reseller News in their "Channel Factoid" segment (bottom left of page), we have this summary of the results of a security survey of small retailers.

"...Smaller retailers appear to be knowledgeable about data security and fraud prevention strategies, but unclear on potential liabilities in the event of breach or noncompliance, according to the recent NRF/First Data Small Business Data Security Study released last week..."

"... Moreover, 60% of these merchants did not realize that credit card companies are authorized to levy fees for every card that has to be canceled if it is determined that they are the source of the data breach..."
